What is WVABLE?

WVABLE is a savings and investment plan designed to give people with disabilities more independence and financial security. With WVABLE, individuals with disabilities can save and invest up to $15,000 per year without losing eligibility for public benefit programs such as Medicaid and Supplemental Security Income (SSI). The program is administered by the West Virginia State Treasurer's Office and powered through STABLE, a nationwide network of ABLE programs.

Who is eligible for a WVABLE account?

Individuals who developed a disability before the age of 26 may be eligible to open an account. STABLE has an online quiz to help you determine if you or a loved one may qualify. Information provided in the quiz DOES NOT sign you up for an account, only helps you determine if WVABLE is the right choice for you or your loved one.

How do I sign up for a WVABLE account?

Opening a WVABLE account is a simple, online process. You will be provided with a checklist of information needed to complete the STABLE Account registration before you begin.
